The 2025 Chinese New Year fireworks display, a 23-minute spectacle starting at 8 pm on Thursday night, enthralled both residents and visitors. The show, launched from three barges, comprised nine scenes and a dazzling 23,888 pyrotechnic shells.
The display opened with "A Brand New Opening," featuring fireworks shaped like the auspicious number eight and gold ingots, followed by "Blossoming Prosperity."
A highlight of the event was the eighth scene, a much-anticipated segment showcasing fireworks in the shape of panda heads. These represented the pandas "An An," "Ke Ke," "Ying Ying," and "Le Le," along with two newborn twins, symbolizing family reunion and happiness for the city. This portion of the display elicited enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
A tourist from Ningbo, who arrived early to secure a good viewing position, lauded the display, specifically praising the colorful panda fireworks and the beautifully crafted heart shapes.
